Hey mom! You've paid your due!

Many stay-at-home moms who have paid their due, sent their children off to school and have decided they are ready to return to work always ask me what the appropriate makeup and hair style is…and how to apply it! Going back to work is hard after years of driving carpool, arranging play dates and managing everything on a very tight schedule for your family. There are trials and tribulations of when, how and why to go back to work…what to do, how to do it and oh yeah…you’ve still got kids to parent. Let me help you, the going-back-to-work mom and every working girl out there! Start with a fresh cut and color! But keep it low maintenance. Get a fresh cut, maybe some side bangs, long layers and delicate highlights. Bare in mind that while every morning you’re taking time to get ready, you still have that family to get on the bus on time. Pick up some hair accessories like I posted on my past blogs for those chic up-do days. Makeup! There is an artist in all of us! Start with a sheer foundation, maybe even just loose powder around your face. A product like: Almay tinted moisturizer will give you the coverage and protection you need. Next, blush those cheek bones either with a bronzer for highlight; or a rosie color for a fresh “awake” look. As for shadow, I like a vanilla color on my lid because it will widen my tired eyes in the morning. You can also go for a natural tone, maybe one shade darker than your natural skin color. I like Bamboo by MAC. Forget the 3-liner rule I posted a few days ago, you really just need one good black eyeliner to get you through this. Apply it at the top of your lid, closest to your lash line possible and feather it out, away from where your eye ends for that “mini-lift”. Please don’t skip the mascara!! Finally, apply a pink hue on your lips. This will bring your entire look together.
