"Lauren Shevchek is a great 19 year old who happens to be one of my daughters closest friends. Tragically Lauren was involved in a swimming pool accident this past June which left her a quadriplegic. Lauren was attending Penn State and had just completed her freshman year. She was a district champion swimmer and an aspiring singer as well. Her attitude towards rehab is inspiring. Because of her condition now Lauren is need of many things for a handicapped person. Her parents home is an older split level which is not disabled friendly. An addition needs to built onto the home in order to have some reasonable quality of her life. For example in the homes current state she cannot even get a shower. I watch as this family is doing the best they can with what they have but I am asking everyone that can help out in establishing a construction fund to give what they can.
